Annual Spring Equinox Stone Skip

The head shaman casts the first stone, dressed in his traditional blue finery. Legend tells these people that the close-fitting hood protects the man from the ill-will of lingering winter spirits.

Success! With the skipping of the stone, winter is banished. The crops are protected for the year and a bountiful harvest is ensured.

Don't kill me for saying this...

Weird, I think I got a death threat on my comics page. I thought it was a joke at first, but then I tracked the commenter, and they were commenting from Pakistan, and presumably referring to my tongue-in-cheek comment on the whole Mohammad cartoon fiasco. You see, I drew a picture of the boxer Muhammad Ali... Har de har. I guess I can see that someone might take offense, as if I were making fun of people being sensitive to religious cartoons. Anyway, you tell me. Is this a serious comment, or just someone in Pakistan playing with my head?
The comment:

"picture maker is a son of ass ,son of beech, son of monkey, son of otter, son of bear.he is like a storage of mudey.if he(picture maker) is foront of me i kill him.haloscan is a (big mouth)dog."

And here is his/her info:
IP Address: 58.65.212.# (CYBER INTERNET SERVICES (PVT.) LTD.)
Continent: Asia
Country: Pakistan
Lat/Long: 30, 70
Language: English

I'm not sure how I managed to have so many bestial parents, nor what exactly a 'storage of mudey' is. I agree that Haloscan is a (big mouth) dog, though. I hope he/she would see what a sweet guy I am if they were standing in "foront' of me and think twice about the whole murder thing.

I am still around. I've been busy making music and planning a wedding. I got some flashy new duds yesterday (at 70% off!). These aren't for the wedding, though. Just for looking awesome.

i am sore today

Well, my grandmother's wake was this weekend. It was really quite nice how so many people crowded into her house among the crimson carpets and gilded mirrors. My mom and her brother both made beautiful eulogies. Everyone started crying when my uncle (normally the LEAST sensitive man on earth) thanked her plaintively for having chosen my mom and him (they are both adopted, along with sixteen of their cousins) and for how much she had loved my Papa.

I drank six glasses of wine (and I almost never drink) but I remained quite lucid. Sometimes I wish that my brain wasn't under such tight control.

When I got back to the island the next day, forty boxes had arrived from that swedish furniture chain. Which I promptly began to construct.

And today, my body is just one aching muscle.

More rambling

Well, new month, fresh page.

Today, Bee and I went down to Beacon Hill Park and ate sandwiches surrounded by hundreds of ducks and seagulls. Once they realized we weren't going to feed them, it was really cool watching them bob and dive for larvae and stuff. Animals are awesome.

Starting to fantasize about the honeymoon. We haven't totally decided what we're doing yet. I keep waffling between a cross-Canada roadtrip and staying in one of those little huts in Bora Bora that sit on stilts over the water and have glass floors so you can watch the fish.

So you can understand a little distraction on my part. A good absent-minded day.
