>Rufus Returns (Again)

I have been too tired to think lately. I am tired right now and not really thinking, but I will make some tea. That should help. Excuse me.

Okay, the kettle is on. Now, where to start? I have been so out of the diaryland loop lately, that there are actually lots of interesting little events to talk about.

Shiny lake.

Bee and I walked 10 kilometers the other day (about six miles) around Elk and Beaver Lake. That's a long way to walk, I think you must agree. I know, I know, most of you probably walk that far to get to work or something, but it's a long way for me. My hip joints were in pain the next day. Have I mentioned that I have joint problems?

We got our car fixed. Can you say free alternator? Bee's dad came to our rescue. He is donning his hero cap with regularity these days (I refer to him rescuing the pilot from that plane crash a little while back).

Towering tree.

We completely rearranged our apartment. It is so much nicer in here! Less cramped - so much more storage! We got rid of one couch, a table, 4 chairs, a big old tv (made the year I was born!), boxes of unwanted magazines and books, many garbage bags filled with clothes. The funny thing is that the couch was probably the nicest thing of all of them, but it was the one thing we had to pay someone to haul away.

Geometrical patterns in nature.

Bee finally got all her grades back for her Bachelor of Science degree. She never got anything less than an A-minus. And she usually got A-pluses. That is throughout all four years. She can no longer call me the smart one. I got a B-plus average (it would have been higher if not for that one calculus class I should have dropped. I sat in the back and read paperbacks. The instructor was this fresh Eastern European immigrant with a thick accent and weird Iron Curtain versions of mathematical symbols. And I really don't like math so much. That's how I got my first F. Mind you, I retook the class and got an A, or a B-plus, or something.) And and and... She just got an $18,000 scholarship to do her Master's! Shock ! Elation!

I am on my feet. I move.

Okay, the kettle has boiled and the tea is steeping. I will fluff up the preceding paragraphs while I wait... Okay, it should be steeped by now. I am back with my tea. I must wallow in warmth and caffeine for a while, if you'll excuse me.

P.S. Happy St. Patrick's Day. Toorah-loorah, and all that.
