>It's Good To Eat Candy

Monday: So much for self-control. Today I bought 3 rolls of Lovehearts candy, 1 slice of chocolate cheesecake, 1 lemon pound cake, 1 large bottle of real whipped cream, and a medium chocolate milkshake. The Lovehearts and the milkshake are gone already. It remains to be seen what (or who) will survive the night.

Tuesday: This is a list of the candy that was to be shared among the 6 person group I worked with today. 1 family-size bag of Reisen chocolate chews. 1 family-size bag of Werthers Original. 1 family size bag of miniature York Peppermint patties. 1 family-size bag of Starburst fruity chews. 2 boxes of chocolates. Also, they recently instituted a free pop (ahem, "soft drink") policy as well. And because I am a sucker for free stuff... well, actually I was pretty good. I had a couple Reisen and a couple Peppermint patties.

I haven't touched the pound cake yet. But I have an awfully strong feeling that I am going to go spray some whipped cream into my mouth straight from the bottle before I am done writing this.

There. I have already done it...

...twice.

Wednesday: We had blueberry pancakes for dinner last night. With real maple syrup and more whipped cream. Bee picked the blueberries fresh from the backyard of the dog-owners for whom we are dog-sitting. They have many many berries.

I bought Bee a frame for her diploma today and set it up in our office. Then I spent 15 minutes digging the sliver I got from said frame out of the palm of my hand. The price of love!

Later Wednesday: Reese Peanut Butter Cups. A relatively healthy cheddar and veggie-bacon melt.

Did you ever see that twilight zone episode called "It's a Good Life" (based on the awesome short story of the same name by Jerome Bixby) in which this little boy has god-like psychic powers and everyone constantly walks on eggshells around him because he can teleport you into a grave beneath the cornfield with barely a thought? I seem to remember that the amoral tyke forced everyone to eat cupcakes and candied apples for dinner every night. Well, I am following his diet.

Wednesday night: Poached Salmon with sweet ginger-garlic marinade, steamed potatoes, broccolli and carrots. For the moment, the candy spell has been broken.
